Healthy Weight Loss 101: How To Lose Weight Quickly

by Court under Diet, Exercise

It’s possible to lose weight quickly without spending an eternity on the treadmill, compromising your health, starving yourself, or using expensive and dangerous supplements. If you can learn to love your body and treat it with that love, you will drop pounds quickly and it will be the right kind of weight.

Incorporating a healthy, balanced diet will be BY FAR the most important aspect of losing weight. It is also the most revealing aspect of how you feel about your body. If you starve your body, it shows that you don’t love it, in fact it’s highly possible that you hate your body if you are willing to resort to that method. If you eat too many foods that aren’t good for your body, it also shows that you don’t love your body.

How To Start To Love Your Body

Step 1 in learning to love your body is taking inventory of where you’re at. What can your body currently do? I would run some simple tests to figure that out. How many pushups, situps, and air squats can you do in 10 minutes? How long does it take you to run or walk a mile? Run some tests, and write down where you’re at. After that, you’re ready to get started.

Chances are high that your body currently isn’t great at any of the tests. Maybe you can’t do a single pushup or maybe it takes you 30 minutes to walk a mile. That’s ok! You at least know where you’re at and you can now make the changes that will lead to loving your body. It will be a victory when you do your first pushup and it will be a victory each time you clock a faster mile. If you can currently do 200 pushups in 10 minutes, it will be a victory when you can do 210, 200, and 300.

Rehabbing Your Lifestyle

If you’re in a situation where your body can’t do much for you, it’s time to make a change and trust me I understand. I got really out of shape and had to turn it around. Here are the keys that helped me to do that:

  • Learning to give my body nutritious foods that don’t contribute to fat gain
  • Getting stronger (crucial)
  • Avoiding binging

Healthy Eating Dos

  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
  • Eat plenty of protein
  • Eat healthy fats with every meal. I add olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, olives, or nuts to every single meal I eat.

Healthy Eating Don’ts

  • Don’t eat processed foods
  • Don’t eat white flour foods including white bread, white tortillas, and white pastas

Exercise

The most crucial aspect of exercise is helping your body to get stronger. If you can’t do pushups, you have to do pushups (even if they’re from your knees). If you can’t walk a mile, you have to walk until you can. Learning how to push your body will help your body to get strong, and this will help you to get lean and lose weight. Losing weight while letting your body get weak will eventually stall your weight loss.
