How Do You Get Skinny?

by Court under Diet, Exercise

The most common question I get around here is definitely ‘How do you get skinny?’. To tell you the truth, there are a lot of different ways to get ‘skinny’. Since your health is my #1 concern, I’m going to forget about the methods that compromise your health, or leave your weight fluctuating more than it should.

The Simple Answer

The simple answer to the question is you lose fat. However, there’s a lot more to the story than that if you want to stay skinny. Getting smaller and taking fat off of your body is easy if you’re willing to sacrifice muscle tissue in the process. Sacrificing muscle, however, creates a lot of problems because it lowers your metabolism and increases insulin sensitivity to the point where anything you eat will be stored as fat. Obviously this isn’t good if you want to lose fat and keep it off. This article will lay out some of the more crucial aspects that you will want to understand if you want to lose weight for good.

1. High Intensity Exercise

If you are willing to train your body, your body will release fat burning hormones and this is the key to looking good after you have lost fat. On the other hand, you can just starve yourself and if you do, you will end up looking SKINNY FAT. I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you want to destroy your health and never look the way you want, it’s a great option.

Many people still believe that low intensity exercise is the way to go if you want to drop fat. It isn’t. You will burn less fat and more muscle if you do long bouts of low intensity exercise like jogging.

2. Eat a Protein Breakfast

I’ve hit this topic a thousand times before and I’m going to keep hitting on it. The foods you eat for breakfast will determine your appetite during the day. If you eat sugar cereal, you will crave sweets and sugary drinks all day. For many of you, this is why you ended up having more fat than you would like. The remedy for this is pretty easy – get off the sugar! Many of you don’t realize that the sugar fest begins with your first meal.

A large number of people don’t eat sugar cereals for breakfast but do eat cereals made up mostly of white flour. Guess how long it takes for white flour to end up as sugar in your bloodstream? Less than 30 minutes and this means that you’re body is running on sugar, even though you didn’t technically eat any.

3. Ditch The Sugar And White Flour

Most people I know don’t comprehend the addictive nature of sugar and white flour. They also don’t understand that for all intents and purposes, they are pretty much the same substance. Both of them end up as glucose in your blood and this means that they both cause the same health problems. They also both cause the same fat storage problems. If your blood is full of sugar, chances are extremely high that you’re going to be storing some fat. Good luck taking fat off of your body if you’re storing it all the time.

4. Eat Whole Foods

You should be eating lean meats, lots of vegetables and fruits, and plenty of healthy fats like avocados, olives, olive oil, nuts, and real butter. These are the foods that your body is meant to run on. Processed foods raise your blood sugar and high blood sugar makes you gain fat. Weird oils and fats such as transfats and hydrogenated fats (shortening, vegetable oil, etc.) mess up your hormones and also cause you to gain fat.

5. Don’t Skip Meals

Skipping meals changes your body’s sensitivity to insulin and changes your metabolism. If I wanted to make myself as fat as possible, I would always skip breakfast. Why? Because skipping breakfast would make my body ready to gain fat at my next meal. Under-eating or skipping breakfast would produce the hormonal changes necessary for gaining fat optimally.

Optimal Schedule For Gaining As Much Fat As Possible:

7:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon: Eat nothing

12:00 noon: Eat a massive meal that’s high in calories, unhealthy fats, and most importantly grains and sugars.

12:00 noon – 9:00 p.m.: Eat nothing

9:00 p.m.: Eat a massive meal that’s high in calories, unhealthy fats, and most importantly grains and sugars.

Naturally, if you don’t want to be adding fat to yourself each and every day, you should probably choose an alternate lifestyle.
