How to Tone Your Stomach in 30 Days

You can significantly change the way your stomach looks in 30 days. Warning: it will take some discipline and a lot of action. If that doesn’t bother you, this lesson can give you what you need to improve the look of those abs.
Some people can get a tone stomach without going through all of the steps. For example, I have had a six pack during multiple times of my life when I did nothing to exercise my stomach. My body fat was low enough to make my abs show through. That said, my stomach looks a lot better when it’s been developed through exercise. The point is that you may talk to people who have to do very little to get the tone look you’re going for and it’s a mistake to not use every technique possible, especially if you’re wanting to make a difference in 30 days.
Stomach-Specific Exercises for a More Developed Stomach
An area will look more ‘tone’ when it has more developed muscles and less fat. This will help new lines to appear and those new lines are what give you the tone look you want.
A few weeks ago I wrote an article that showed some of the best workouts to develop a six pack. Not all of you will want a six pack, but whether you do or don’t, you should integrate those exercises if you want to get more tone in your stomach. Getting a six pack doesn’t happen overnight and chances are high that the look you’re going for is somewhere between where you are now and ‘completely shredded in the abs’.
Full Body Exercise for Lowering Body Fat
While working on your stomach will help the way the muscles look, it will do little to lower the levels of fat that cover it up. That’s taken care of by healthy diet (more on that later) and full body exercise. When you exercise with your full body, it’s a lot easier to burn a lot of calories and your body will do a better job of using hormones to mobilize fat storage.
Running, swimming, and calisthenics like burpees and air squats can all be great forms of full body exercise. Lifting heavy weights is also great and important for raising your metabolism. Stick to lifts like squats, deadlifts, bench press, and standing shoulder press – all movements that utilize multiple joints.
Healthy Diet
Most people mess up their potential tone stomach primarily in the kitchen. They eat all the wrong foods and ultimately that holds them back from getting to their goals. Some people do all of the exercise necessary to have a great stomach but overeat or just eat the wrong stuff. Check out our list of foods that make us fat and avoid those foods like the plague.
If you want to make significant changes to your stomach, you really need to switch to whole foods. Processed foods stress your body, raise your cortisol (which causes your body to deposit stomach fat), and cause appetite control issues.

Losing Your Excess Water Weight
Believe it or not, carrying around a lot of excess water weight can really make a difference in how your stomach looks. Fortunately, it’s really easy to lose your excess water weight. People who eat a lot of processed foods and grains generally have levels of water that are much higher than people who eat whole foods. There are a lot of other triggers such as dehydration that make your body hold onto water. For more on that, here’s a lesson on losing water weight fast.
Additional Help
Step 1 is to get started immediately. Start doing exercises and work on your diet. If you can integrate everything in this lesson, you can make significant changes in 30 days. For many of you, it will take longer than 30 days to integrate all of these concepts. That’s ok – just get a little better all the time and before you know it, you’ll have that tone stomach you’re looking for.
