Is Paleo Gluten Free?

Question of the day: Is Paleo Gluten Free?
Yes, paleo diets are gluten free, but they are much more than that. They are completely grain free, which means they are free of wheat, barley, rye, corn, and all other grains. They are also free of derivatives (such as soy sauce) of grains.
Grains are inflammatory and can irritate the gut, causing a variety of issues. They can also lead to weight gain and hunger/appetite control issues.
My Experience with Gluten and Grains
For years and years, I didn’t believe that I could stop eating grains. They had become a huge part of my diet and it didn’t seem possible to stop eating them. Whenever I would try, my body would completely freak out.
Through a lengthy process, I discovered that eating gluten was the cause of my chronic fatigue and insomnia. At that point, I didn’t have a choice but to stop eating it. I switched to a paleo type diet and surprisingly, I thrived. It didn’t take long at all to get used to a diet free of grains. That of course fixed my chronic fatigue/insomnia and helped me to get leaner and stronger than before.
I’ve discovered that I can tolerate a small amount of gluten but feel significantly better when I don’t have any.
Now that I don’t eat grains, I rely a lot more heavily on fruits and vegetables for my carbohydrates. These foods of course provide a lot more nutrition than grains and that has helped me to feel a lot better than I did before.
