There are a lot of ways to quickly lose weight. Some of them will ‘promise’ you that you can lose weight in as little as a week. The problem is that many of them will do significant damage to your body.
1. HCG
You can lose a lot of weight in a hurry doing an HCG diet but you will completely wreck your metabolism. Despite what HCG marketers will tell you, people who do HCG almost always end up with less muscle, more fat, and lower metabolisms than before they went on the diet. In other words, doing HCG will make you skinnier two weeks from now and a LOT fatter two months from now. It can become a vicious cycle of addiction because two months from now you’re going to want to lose the new weight you’ve gained. What a mess.
2. Low-Fat Diets
I know a lot of people who have lost weight on low fat diets. The problem with them is that our bodies use healthy fats to make hormones and a lot of other things that our bodies need. When we don’t eat fat, we can’t make those hormones. Two of my closest friends ended up with super low testosterone because of this issue. Guess what happens when your sex hormones get out of whack? You gain body fat.
3. Starvation Diets
Eating low calories will only temporarily help you to lose weight. After a few weeks, your weight loss will stall. In order to continue losing weight, you will need to continue to drop your calories. Eventually you will hit a place where you can’t restrict any more. Sadly, once you hit that point you will have to continue eating very few calories just to stay the same weight. Bad plan.

Court, Have you ever watched that super cool show called “Myth Busters”? I took a class from one of the instructors who was an expert in explosives. He also did shows on dozens of other topics. I should send him an email to do a show on stupid and sucky diets that don’t work. I see friends at work county calories and eating crappy food because they are allowed so many “points”. Oh, this scone is only 6 points! My answer is “What is your point”! I say this as I scarf down a handful of high fat almonds. My coworkers make fun of me as I eat my chia pudding in the morning made with almond milk. Some of the dieters are eating low fat yogurt, Kashi breakfast cereal with skim milk…
Guess what? I am the only skinny guy eating who consumes a high fat diet.
